Trees in Space

I found these scans fascinating and beautiful and so have decided to include them here as works of art in there own right. They are scans of trees (using a combination of laser and radar).

Mountain Wash

This is a 3D topography of mountains. The way the image unfolds as the light washes across the terrain is eerie and has a special sense of space. I often find that beautiful images are created in the process of making a shot, sometimes more so even than the finished sequence (given that it has to fit within the films narrative and reality). These works of art are usually discarded as a byproduct. I have resurrected these as I think they should be celebrated as things of beauty in their own right.
